Qingquan Hot Spring Area
Introduction to Qingquan Hot Spring
Qingquan Hot Spring is located on the banks of the Shangping River in Taoshan Village, Wufeng Township, Hsinchu County. It is a settlement of the Atayal and Saisiyat indigenous peoples. Developed in 1913, it was originally used by the Japanese police on the mountain pass during the Japanese occupation, hence the name "Jingshang Hot Spring". It is also known as "Qingquan Bathing", and is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Hsinchu. Visitors to Qingquan Hot Spring can cross two suspension bridges. The first suspension bridge leads to the indigenous village market in the mountains, while the second suspension bridge leads directly to Qingquan Hot Spring. You can also visit Dalu Forest Road along the way to experience the charming scenery of Hsinchu!
Qingquan Hot Spring - Unique Spring Quality
Qingquan Hot Spring has several springs, with an average temperature of about 48 degrees Celsius and a pH value of about 7.7. It is a colorless and odorless neutral carbonic acid spring, rumored to have beauty, skin-beautifying, and slimming effects. Although Qingquan Hot Spring disappeared after a flash flood, it reappeared after the 921 earthquake. Currently, the spring source is protected by an iron gate, and the township office reopened the Qingquan Hot Spring Resort in November 2018 after an eight-year closure, featuring a general's bath, a public bath, and family-style bathhouses.
